VT FMDS Hood Rich Fashion Show!

"Of course we have to start fashionably late," fashion show coordinator Jordan Lobik said as she and fellow fashion show coordinator Abbie Gilliam opened the Fashion Merchandising and Design Society's fashion show 30 minutes late (this is nothing compared to Marc Jacobs who once started his show two hours late). FMDS, an organization that I along with many other fashion-loving students are a part of, put on its annual fashion show, with the theme "Hood Rich," a term used to describe urban sophistication.

The designers featured in the show were designs by Tech students as well as by our special guest judges, L.A.-based designers Kid Dangerous Grime Couture. Kid Dangerous is a growing name in the fashion industry, known for their t-shirts with forward and bold graphics. Kid Dangerous kicked off the show, followed by the student designs. New designers submitted less than three garments and feature designers submitted more than three garments. Student designers were required to submit a "gold garment" with the rest of their designs that had to include the color gold to go along with the Hood Rich theme.

The student designs were very impressive and showed hard work, dedication and an immense amount of talent. Here are some pictures from the show.
